Organization is crucial when creating content for others. If you are not organized, then the information will not be communicated smoothly and those consuming will have a difficult time understanding the main messages. Going through the process with the eyes of both how the information will be received, and how to best communicate that information, may point out gaps in a lesson. It is impossible to plan for every scenario that might arise when teaching live sessions, yet organizing the key objectives can negate possible confusion.

When creating multimedia content it can be easy to get off-track and include information that is not crucial to the lesson. This makes the job of the creator harder as they would have to edit and explain more than necessary. Distracting learners with an abundance of information takes away from the effectiveness of a lesson. A lesson plan allows for more streamline content that can be referred to over time.

While organizing and planning for future content, it is important to understand it may not fully achieve everything that it’s set out to. It’s beneficial to have a solid plan, even if when creating it may not be able to come to fruition. Flexibility, especially with technology based learning, is a skill to best adapt depending on the circumstances.
